Product policy:

We will only allow the advertisement and sale of items that are produced by your organisation. It is acceptable for you to buy in items that are subsequently worked on by you to personalise or enhance. It is not acceptable to simply re-sell mass produced, unaltered items for a profit. Made in Wigan will review every item for sale and will refuse where they believe that the organisation in question has had no part in the production of the goods or they are unsuitable for sale on the community site.

The products must be a good standard and represent value for money. We are happy for each organisation to set their own prices which must include postage and packaging costs where appropriate. A home delivery option will be available where you will be responsible for the delivery of products to local addresses.

The number of items available must be provided when a product is first put up for sale and the website will show stock levels following successful orders. When stock is refreshed, a simple email will allow Made in Wigan to update stock level details. This is the responsibility of the selling organisation although Made in Wigan may prompt sellers when stock levels are getting low.

Fulfilment policy:

Made in Wigan will inform the selling organisation of the day an order is received. The expected timeframe for delivery of each item must be quoted on the web site and can be set by each organisation. This can differ by product type. Some products may be completely bespoke and made to order. This is acceptable and the delivery timeframe should reflect this.

Each organisation is then responsible for fulfilling the order whether by post or home delivery within the time frame quoted.

Advertising policy:

Each organisation may wish to promote their products and services via their own website and social media feeds.  This can include hyperlinks to the made in Wigan online shop or specific products.  Made in Wigan will only intervene if it identifies any breaches to the product or intellectual property policies.

Seller Community policy:

Whilst made in Wigan accepts that some produce lines from different organisations may be similar, we are happy to list every product that an organisation produces as long as it does not contravene the Product policy or Intellectual Property policy.

If any organisations feel that their intellectual property has been infringed, they must issue made in Wigan with the appropriate notification which will be investigated.  Any decision reached by Made in Wigan will be full and final.  If the decision is to remove any items, Made in Wigan will inform the organisation of their reasons for removal.

Payment policy:

Made in Wigan will receive orders via the website and will forward to each organisation on the same day. Made in Wigan will take full payment for the goods and postage and will pay each organisation for the goods they have sold (less commission and charges) on a set date monthly.

During this difficult time, we do not intend to charge commission and will take a flat fee of 30p per transaction to cover our bank fees. This will be reviewed in the future and any commission fees payable will be communicated at least 14 days before they apply to the sale of products.

Made in Wigan will not promote any particular product above other products, and as such, no additional fees will be payable for product promotions etc.

Disputes policy:

Any disputes from buyers will come to Made in Wigan in the first instance. These will be forwarded to the relevant organisation on the same day for a timely resolution. We would expect a response to the buyer (copying in made in Wigan) within 7 days with the resolution details.

Made in Wigan will track all disputes and ensure that a satisfactory resolution has been reached. This could lead to the refund of payment direct to the buyer by Made in Wigan. If we find that an organisation regularly attracts complaints or is unable or unwilling to resolve disputes in a timely manner, Made in Wigan reserves the right to remove the organisation and all associated products from the site.

Intellectual Property policy:

Made in Wigan online shop is a marketplace comprised of individual third-party sellers who manufacture or alter their own goods, create their own policies, and are responsible for their inventory, shipping, and complying with the law. Made in Wigan provides a but does not manufacture goods, hold inventory, or ship items on behalf of our sellers. The content uploaded on Made in Wigan’s online shop is generated by the organisations who are not employees, agents, or representatives of Made in Wigan. Sellers are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary rights to their content and that they are not infringing or violating any third party’s rights by posting it.

Made in Wigan reserves the right to disable any listing or organisation that we believe violates any of our policies.

Made in Wigan cannot speak on behalf of intellectual property owners, nor are we in a position to offer legal advice or make legal determinations whether an organisation’s content infringes someone else’s intellectual property. Made in Wigan will remove material cited for alleged intellectual property infringement when provided with a proper notice.

Privacy policy:

We will collect the minimum information needed to ensure we can contact you regarding any queries, questions or disputes.  We will not share your personal information with any other organisation without your express permission. If we need to contact you, we will use the email or phone number provided by you specifically for this purpose.

Buyers will not be provided with any details of the organisation or individual via their transaction with Made in Wigan.  If you wish to enter into communication with a buyer directly, for whatever reason, any information you provide to them falls outside of the Made in Wigan privacy policy.
